Itemize Ntnu

ItemizeNTNU is a student organization that hosts capture the flag events and other events related to cybersecurity. It was the first student organization I joined. I started as company coordinator, planning courses and presentations from companies, which gives members a chance to learn from professionals while giving the companies a way to get in front of them.

I gradually moved over to the role of system administrator, managing the servers Itemize runs on. The services are not critical and do not see heavy traffic, which makes them a good playground. I treat uptime as if it were critical anyway, doing blue green deployments to minimize downtime when upgrading the systems, and experimenting with different monitoring setups for alerting when something goes wrong.
