Robotkrig

Robotkrig is a robot battle competition at OmegaVerksted NTNU, a few hours of head to head fights between robots built by students. I have entered three times, always solo, and won the first one.

Three competitions, three robots. The first had a drill bolted to the front, and the next two traded that for a poking, piercing spike. I did not know CAD when I started the first build, so I taught myself enough to get the thing modeled, and it has paid off ever since. Each robot was also an excuse to try different hardware: the first ran on an ESP32 talking over WiFi UDP, while the last two were flown with an actual drone controller sending PWM signals straight to the motors. For the final robot I machined the shell out of carbon fibre, my first time working with the material.
